Do Nothing Farming

Do-Nothing Farming, also known as Natural Farming, the Fukuoka Method, Fukuoka Farming, is an alternative farming method to chemical or traditional farming. Developed over a thirty year period by Masanobu Fukuoka of Japan, this method employs the use of crop rotation, minimal irrigation, no or reduced tillage, "seed balls," and allowing natural regulation of pests. Founder

Masanobu Fukuoka was born in Japan in 1913. He studied microbiology and began a career studying plant pathology. He quit his job as a research scientist when he began to doubt modern agricultural science. Fukuoka then moved to his parents' farm in Ehime prefecture,Shikoku in southern Japan and developed his own method of organic farming.
