Stanley Uwadiegwu Festus Anyanwu, a professional footballer, was born in Imo State, Nigeria in 1982. He started to play football at the age of 14 and after playing in Western Africa, Stanley was handed an opportunity to play in Asia. Because he wanted to get some experience and exposure to international football before going to play in Europe, he took the chance and moved to India. After playing a while in India and Maledives, he thought that he has developed as far as possible in those circumstances, and it would be the time to embark on something new and seek for a transfer to Europe.
Currently Stanley lives in Finland where has played professionally since 2005, his latest team being Oulun Palloseura. Stanley has also coached TUPS A-juniors in Tuusula and exercised and played with JÄPS. Stanley is married and lives in Vantaa.
Stanley’s best qualities as a footballer are his speed and power. Also good work rate and mentality in never giving up are his definite strengths, as are his shooting and technique. He has played as a striker and also behind the other strikers as an attacking midfielder. His favourite position is playing behind the attack as a second striker.
