SKOAR! is an
India n magazine devoted exclusively to computer games. SKOAR! was founded in 2003 byJasubhai Digital Media (JDM) Pvt Ltd as a bi-monthly publication. All the games reviewed till date by SKOAR! are available on their websiteSKOAR was launched as a sister publication to Digit as being dedicated to more hardcore gaming issues [http://news.moneycontrol.com/mccode/news/article/news_article.php?autono=182422] . It is thus a more specialist magazine than Digit. The tagline of SKOAR! is "...When its done".
Sections
"SKOAR!" features "we've got incoming", "phurstluk", "reevus", "pheachurs", "haadwear", "doo it urcelph" and "poynt off vu" sections dealing with computer as well as console games.The games are rated on the basis of visual appeal, sound, gameplay and mojo factor and employ a horizontal bar with a maximum rating of 10.
The Tagline
The tagline of SKOAR! is ...When its done. It was created by Badri Narayan because he was pestered with mails pertaining questions on the release of the next issue.
The SKOAR! expo
SKOAR! has been arranging gaming expos in metropolitans of India. As of 30th Jan 2008 it has conducted 4 expos. The first expo was held in Mumbai, the second one in Bangalore and a third one was held in January 2007 in Delhi.
The fourth expo was conducted in Mumbai at MMRDA grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex and spanned three days (25th to 27th January 2008).
