fictional character in the now-defunct Americansoap opera , "Search for Tomorrow ". She was played byCynthia Gibb , who was most identified in the role and later by Terri Eoff and Elizabeth Swackhammer.Suzi was the daughter of Doug Martin and
Eunice Gardner Wyatt . After her father's death and her mother's remarriage to John Wyatt, she was adopted by him. Her aunt wasJoanne Gardner , who loved her very much. So much so, that after Eunice's death, she adopted Suzi. Suzi was also related to Scott Phillips (Peter Simon), who was her half-brother. (Doug was both Scott and Suzi's father)Ironically, although her Aunt Jo and
Stephanie Wilkins were bitter enemies, she and Stephanie's daughter,Wendy Wilkins were best friends. Although many times their friendship was strained over their choice of men, Suzi and Wendy's friendship remained close.Suzi had a crush on boxer Brian Emerson, who was discovered to be Wendy's half-brother; then when she had discovered that he had married Kristin Carter; she married her businessman brother, Warren Carter.
However, she and Warren divorced when he fell in love with Wendy. Suzi felt hurt, but she stepped aside and allowed Wendy and Warren to marry. She began a very much on-again/off-again relationship with working class Cagney McCleary (played by Matthew Ashford) of the Irish McCleary family. They stayed together through many trials and tribulations. In the final years of the show, it focused on the 3 McCleary brothers: Hogan, Cagney and Quinn. Suzi actually ended up shooting the criminal Warren after he taunted her into it and tried to kidnap their child Jonah. Wendy stayed loyal to Warren until the end and had abetted him in his schemes, after he faked his own death and escaped from prison.
