Career
Educated at Sherborne School and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, Curwen was commissioned into the 4th Queen's Own Hussars in 1948.[1] He then joined the Secret Intelligence Service and became a South-East Asia specialist before being posted to Geneva and Washington D.C.[2] He was appointed Chief of the Service in 1989.[3]
