St. Peter's Abbey, Saskatchewan

St. Peter's Abbey in Muenster, Saskatchewan, Canada is, as of February 2007, home to 27 Benedictine monks. This includes 17 priests, and 10 brothers. The abbot of St. Peter's is Peter Novecosky. They follow the monastic rule of St. Benedict. He wrote a rule for Christian life known for its balance and moderation; this life provides a balance between prayer, work and study for the monks. St. Peter's Abbey is also the oldest Benedictine monastery in Canada, as it was founded in 1903.
