Ph.D. (1947- ) is a Professor and Chair of the Committee on theNeurobiology of Addictive Disorders at TheScripps Research Institute and Adjunct Professor ofPsychology andPsychiatry at theUniversity of California, San Diego .Dr. Koob is a pioneering researcher in the field of substance abuse and stress. He has proposed, with Dr. Michel Le Moal, a contemporary model of drug addiction termed "the allostatic model of
