Ideal Free Distribution

Ideal Free Distribution

Ideal Free Distribution ("IFD") are an indie rock band from Benton and Lexington, Kentucky. Eric Griffy (bass), Tony Miller (vocals) and Craig Morris (guitar) began recording songs on 4 and 8 track recorders in 1997. Their music is loosely related to that of the Elephant 6 collective, as well as 1960s outfits such as the Kinks and the Yardbirds.

Band History

In 2002, the IFD began writing and recording what would become their self-titled debut album that would eventually be released on Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records in 2007. The record revealed the band coloring its music with Mellotron, organ, and other instruments uncommon to most guitar based indie rock. The now eight piece band has played the Athens PopFest.
