species of seasnail , a marinegastropod mollusc in the familyOlividae , the olives.So far only juveniles have been found; an adult specimen is needed before this species can be properly evaluated.
Range of distribution
This species is endemic to
New Zealand . It is found at the entrances toGeorge Sound andDusky Sound inFiordland in theSouth Island .Habitat
Juvenile specimens of this olive have been found at depths of between 25 and 60 m.
hell description
The external shell colour is pinkish-buff, except for the
protoconch , sutural margining and fasciolar bands, which are white.The maximum height of the only specimens found so far ( juveniles) is 6 mm, and the width is 4 mm.
