History and ownership

Teletrax was formed as a subsidiary of Medialink Worldwide Incorporated and Philips Electronics with Medialink owning 76% and Philips 24%. It was launched in 2002. Technology

Teletrax uses an underlying technology that is patent-protected by both Digimarc Corporation and Philips Electronics’ content identification division, Teletrax’s technology embeds a digital watermark into video whenever it is edited, transmitted, broadcast or duplicated.

A global network of proprietary decoders, or “detectors,” then captures all occurrences of the embedded video being transmitted via satellite, cable or terrestrially and generates tracking reports for the content owners. Reports of individual broadcast airings are delivered and made available online in near real-time through a custom-designed web portal or as data file transfer.

Global operations

Teletrax is headquartered in London and has offices in New York City and Hollywood. It tracks and monitors over 1,400 television channels worldwide through its 12 monitoring stations located in Europe, Middle East, Asia, North and South America and has its main operations hub in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Affiliations

Teletrax is among the 12 founding members of the Digital Watermarking Alliance, an organization that was formed to promote and educate the public about the benefits of digital watermarking technology.
