Carmen Amedori was elected as a Delegate for District 5A, which represents Carroll County, in 1998. She served in the Maryland legislature until 2004 when she was appointed by Governor
Bob Ehrlich to the Parole Commission.Education
Career
Amedori served as a paralegal for many years before becoming a journalist writing for the
Baltimore Sun andthe Carroll County Times . She was the District Court Commissioner for Carroll County District 10 from 1991-1993.She is a member of the Maryland Taxpayers' Association, the National Association of Legal Assistance, Citizens Against Government Waste, Citizens Against Big Charter Government, and Americans for Tax Reform.
She has received several awards over her lifetime including the School Bell Award from the
Maryland State Teacher's Association and the Distinguished Journalism Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.Legislative notes
