Zamagurie (-Slovak, _pl. Zamagurze) is a region in the north of the
Spiš region, between theSpišská Magura in the south,Dunajec river in the north andBiałka (Slovak:"Biela voda") river in the west. It is divided betweenSlovakia Prešov Region andPoland Lesser Poland Voivodeship and are further divided between the Slovak districts of Stará Ľubovňa and Kežmarok and Polishgmina s ofBukowina Tatrzańska ,Nowy Targ andŁapsze Niżne . The centre of the region is the Slovak townSpišská Stará Ves , which is just near the border. The region also used to be the official tourist region in Slovakia until 2004.In 2006, a new border bridge for pedestrians was open between

The most attractive are the
Pieniny mountains with theDunajec river gorge , with floating trips on wooden canoes bound into rafts, hikes to the "Tri korunky"/"Trzy Korony" or "Sokolica" hills.From the folk architecture are worth mentioning Goral villages of
Osturňa and Jezersko in Slovakia.Another attractions are
Vyšné Ružbachy spa village, medieval town ofPodolínec , monastery inČervený Kláštor and the winter centres in Osturňa and Spišská Stará Ves. In Poland, there are also many attractions available, for exampleNiedzica ski centre, Niedzica Castle or just next to it theCzorstynski reservoir , which is used for recreation.Gallery
