James Humphreys

James Humphreys is a writer, academic and political campaigner who was born 1967 in Cambridge, UK. Currently visiting Professor of Government at City University [http://www.city.ac.uk/journalism/people/faculty/jhumphreys.html] and director of political campaign consultancy Woodnewton Associates. Author of psychological thrillers "Sleeping Partner" and "Riptide" [http://www.panmacmillan.com/Authors%20Illustrators/displayPage.asp?PageTitle=Individual%20Contributor&ContributorID=70062&RLE=Author] and of "Negotiating in the European Union" and various articles. Previously was a Civil servant in the Department of the Environment (1992-1997) and Prime Minister's Office (1998-2003). He stood for the Green Party of England and Wales in the 2005 general election in Islington South and Finsbury. [http://politics.guardian.co.uk/person/0,,-11051,00.html] and received 1,471 votes. He is currently the Chair of the Green Party having been elected at their Autumn conference in 2008.
