The 1855 Bursa earthquake occurred on

And also a devastating precursor quake that took place inKemalpaşa , a town ofBursa, Turkey caused a severe destruction in all over Bursa and other neighboring cities [ [http://www.bursa.gov.tr/deprem/deprem04.htm T.C. Bursa Valiliği ] ] . and 300 people died and thousands of homes and workplaces were wrecked, and some of the historical monuments and buildings including mosques were collapsed. Subsequently, fire had spread out in the city, which sped up the death toll.On

This aftershock affected the region from Gemlik to Mudanya. 1,300 people were dead.
