The CD single will be released on 22 August 2008 in Irish owned companyTower Records .Biography
Sean "SMD" Dempsey was born in Ireland in 1991. At an early stage he developed the love for music in which he started to play the piano and keyboard at the age of 15. When finally starting to become more serious about his music, he wrote his first song "(Feeling The) Spark". Although the song failed to do anything, Sean didn't give up. He started working on new material in very early 2008. This began to what is known as the
SMD era as Sean uses this nickname quite a lot in his songs.
ThisSMD era brought his first single "Breakin' Up ". The single changed Sean's hopes for music stardom. The song received a lot of attention from newspapers like TheEvening Herald and top radio station Spin1038. With the digital release on the 1st June (Mobile Downloads) and 20th June (iTunes Stores) the song went straight to number 5 on the Irish Download Chart. It then stayed there for 9 consecutive weeks, then falling to a Top 20 position for 2 more weeks. The single does crop up now and again on the Top 100 list.
Now with the release of the CD Single, Sean is currently doing promotion and shows to promote his first CD Single release. On August 4th, theEvening Herald will once again do a story on Sean and his new single. Sean will also play Lime Cafe Bar.Other Ventures
