subdivision ="Triarthrus" is an upper-
Ordovician trilobite found inNew York State, eastern and northernCanada andScandinavia . It is the last of the Olenid trilobites, which flourished in theCambrian period. "Triarthrus" have been found in theRome ,New York area with soft body parts preserved in iron pyrite. This preservation has given scientists a rare opportunity to examine thegills , walking legs, antennae and digestive systems of trilobites, which are rarely preserved. "Triarthrus" is therefore commonly used in science texts to illustrate trilobite physiology.References
