Ahab is a funeral doom band from Germany. The band was formed from two members of Midnattsol and one former member of Endzeit. The band is noted for their use of slow, synthesized interludes, which add to the mysterious, dreamy soundscape, and a distinctively oceanic setting. This technique is especially prominent in the beginning of the song "Below The Sun". The band's lyrics are inspired by the story of Moby Dick by Herman Melville, in which Ahab seeks vengeance on the white whale. Some of the songs' lyrics are actually directly quoted from the book.
