Vitali Golod (born 23 June, 1971) is a Ukrainian–
Israel i chess grandmaster.As of April 2007, his
Elo rating was 2597, making him the # 7 player in Israel and the 152nd-highest rated player in the world. It is his peak rating so far.In 1988, he tied for 13-14th in Kharkov (UKR-ch).
Golod was Ukrainian Champion in 1991. He then he moved to Israel.
In 2002, he tied for 6-8th in
Tel Aviv (ISR-ch;Ilya Smirin ,Boris Avrukh , and Zvulun Gofshtein won).In 2004, he tied for 1st-2nd with Sergei Erenburg in
Ramat Aviv (ISR-ch). He also won inSanta Monica .In 2005, he took 7th in
Montreal (Victor Mikhalevski won).In 2006, he won in
Schaumburg (GM-B section), and shared 3rd at the MonarchIsle of Man International (behindAlexander Areshchenko and Segey Volkov).Link
