Leigh Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U. S. state of Wyoming. Situated just southeast of Mount Moran, the lake provides sweeping views of that peak and several others to the south. Access to the lake is by way of a hiking trail a distance of one mile (1.6 km) and is an easy hike over level terrain. Leigh Lake is an unusual challenge in the most common approaches to climbing Mount Moran. Given the difficulty of approaching Mount Moran by land, most climbing parties canoe from the area of Jenny Lake Lodge near String Lake and follow String Lake north to Leigh Lake, briefly portage the canoes and paddle across Leigh Lake to the flank of Mount Moran. Canoes can be rented for that purpose.
