The Muscatine community School District is located in Muscatine, Iowa. It also includes the Towns of Fairport and Montpelier, as well as Rural Areas of Letts and Blue Grass.
The district consists of 8 elementary (K-5) schools, 2 middle (6-8) schools and 1 high school (9-12). In 2005, Madison Elementary received the National Blue Ribbon School designation, and in 2010, McKinley Elementary was also awarded Blue Ribbon status. The district is the first district in the nation to implement "The Leader In Me" program, which is based on the 7 habits of highly effective people, in every elementary school. The district also has the acclaimed G SQUARED inquiry based programming at the both middle schools and at the high school. G SQUARED is a school within a school program that emphasizes 21st century skills and college readiness. The unique name reflects the aim of delivering EXPONENTIAL LEARNING for a GLOBAL GENERATION.
As of October 1, 2009, 5,224 students attended schools in the Muscatine Community School District.
