Tetraodontiformes , which consists of seven species in seven genera, in addition to one extinct genus. Much like their relatives thetriggerfish and thefilefish , the triplespines's first ray of thedorsal fin is formed to a spine. Further, they have two spines in place of theirventral fin s. Not much is known about how the fish live. They live in the Indopacific Ocean. All but the "Triacanthus biaculeatus " are off shore fish, that only come close to land occasionally. "Triacanthus biaculeatus" lives from thePersian Gulf along the Asian coast all the way toJapan , as well as off the coast ofAustralia . They can get up to 15 to 25 centimeters long.References
