Benedikt Stojković, also Benedetto Stay, born in
Dubrovnik (Ragusa),Dalmatia in 1714, died atRome in 1801 was a CroatianRoman Catholic churchman.Educated by
Jesuits , he attended the academic assemblies ofMarin Sorkočević , beginning the composition of a poem onAlexander Farnese . Later on he published “Saggio sull'uomo”, based on the system ofDescartes .Life
At age 28 years, he journeyed to Rome in order to Turin in quality of University professor, he was withheld from the card.

He was the author of two Latin poems, one on the Cartesian philosophy in 6 books (
