March 11 1967 inRogachev ,U.S.S.R. ) is a retiredice hockey player who played in theNational Hockey League for theWinnipeg Jets ,Detroit Red Wings and theSan Jose Sharks .Bautin was drafted 17th overall by Winnipeg in the
1992 NHL Entry Draft and played 130 games for the Jets, scoring 5 goals and 25 assists for 30 points, collecting 176 penalty minutes.On
March 8 ,1994 , Bautin, along withBob Essensa , was traded to the Detroit Red Wings forTim Cheveldae andDallas Drake , but reported to the Red Wings very out of shape, due to much tobacco-smoking.He then signed on for the San Jose Sharks in 1995, but again played just one game (conditioning.)
He continued his career in
