Tytherington High School is a comprehensive school and specialist Science College in Macclesfield, in Cheshire.

Admissions

The school has around 1200 pupils with ages ranging from 11-18, including sixth form.

History

The school was founded in the 1846 and its current headmaster is Mr Robinson. 2006 arson attack

Later in 2006, three days before the start of the school year, the entire Art block was burned down in a case of arson [ [http://www.school-portal.co.uk/GroupDownloadFile.asp?GroupID=68870&ResourceId=305890 Letter to pupils about the arson.] Retrieval date: November 30 2007.] . The fire also damaged other rooms, including the Food Technology room. Despite this, the school still opened on time, and had a new Food Technology room completed by the start of the Winter Term, followed by a completely new Art block by the start of the next school year.

Uniform

The uniform was revised in 2008. Blue shirts were replaced with white shirts (which had previously been restricted to Year 11 only), neckties were replaced clip-on ties and optional black V-neck jumpers were introduced. The school logo is also more prominently displayed on both shirts and jumpers.
