December 11 ,1885 ,Calahaln, North Carolina , made his first steps into baseball with theDavidson College Wildcats , in 1906. He then later switched colleges to theMaryland Agricultural College (later the University of Maryland), where he played from 1907-1909. Then, the 6'2", 180 pound pitcher moved to play for theBoston Red Sox . He played in Boston in 1909 and did not play major league baseball again until 1913, again from the Red Sox. In 1914 he jumped to theFederal League to play for Buffalo for the 1914 & 1915 seasons. In 1916 he was sold to theNew York Giants and Anderson played with them for three seasons. Anderson shot himself with a shotgun onNovember 8 ,1957 inWinston-Salem , North Carolina, where he is also buried.Baseball Records
