"InZer0" is a science fiction serial produced in Detroit, Michigan by Jamie Sonderman, Mike Zawacki, and Connie Manglin of Thought Collide Productions, and Ed Gardiner.

Production

InZer0 is an episodic series with 12 missions, created through a completely volunteer crew and cast.

The first installment of InZer0 featured over fifty local performers in the cast, some playing multiple roles..

As of March 2007, the feature film "InZer0: Fragile Wings" is in production. Filming is estimated to be completed by the end of July, with post production to follow immediately after.

eries Synopsis

Thames, an ambitious courier, weaves his way through a dangerous city, after a catastrophic event which has claimed two-thirds of the world's population overnight without a trace.

The disappearances caused havoc throughout the world: power grids failed, governments fell, and most means of communication were disrupted. People congregated to the cities and created shaky yet stable societies, but every person born after that day is no longer capable of bearing children, and the world now knows no human being younger than 17 years old. Humanity is doomed.

Ten years after that day, visitors came to the planet, bringing with them beliefs which were very similar to the planet's "old ways" believed to be from myth, folklore and religion.

The ship that brought them to the planet, a kind of interstellar Ark, broke into pieces as it entered the atmosphere, destroying itself and spreading its inhabitants across the planet. These aliens came to live among the population of Earth, changing society forever.

Episode Synopses

InZer0: The Series - Mission Synopses

Mission 1 – Intro

With the feast of Bacchus as the backdrop we get to know the characters from whose eyes we will see the world of InZer0. We learn of secret plots, or a mysterious alien pod, and we get to follow Thames and Marilee on an adventure to get to know the true nature of the Couriers Guild.

Mission 2 - The Box

Running time – 17:52Director – Jamie Sonderman

The Governor contracts Thames to take a mysterious and magically sealed box outside the city -- a very dangerous place filled with alien creatures. Marilee is on a standard run until the City Watch shows up and pursues her through the lower city.

Mission 3 – Erol

Running time – 20:15Director – Marc-Antoine Serou

In this episode, we get a glimpse of the surreal world of the artificial intelligence (AI). Erol, Thames' AI navigator, enters the M-Net and meets a mysterious and alluring program – Rose. Later, Erol is infected with a virus and leads Thames on a wild goose chase throughout the city causing him to arrive late to drop off a package. He is met by his estranged brother, Maddox, and his old mentor, Priest.

Mission 4 – Kill the Messenger

Thames is sent to deliver a package to Straub, evil inventor and master of the Artificers Guild. The contents of the package contain a request to kill Thames. While delivering a separate package, Raimi is confronted by the City Watch and must fight for her life.

Mission 5 - Out of Zer0

Running time – 24:19Director – Jamie Sonderman

Seeking to cover his tracks, the Governor has all records of Thames' existence deleted. When Erol tells him that he is, in effect, stuck in zero indefinitely, Thames realizes that the only way to get his life back is to endure the bureaucratic hell of the Registration Authority. Meanwhile, the Governor begins making radical changes to his power structure, enraging members of his Privy Council.

Mission 6 – Conspiracy

The Governor is in grave danger; assassins and unknown enemies threaten to overthrow him. Thames is hired to transport the Governor to a safe haven – the Conversation Guild. While in the guildhouse, Thames runs into an old flame who is now a conversationalist.

Mission 7 – Future/Past

On this Halloween night, the couriers must deliver their packages while dodging the Shedu – demons that stalk the night on this sacred holiday. While on her run, Raimi is trapped in a house full of zombies and must find a way out. Thames is probed by demonic aliens who seek to learn about his past and future.

Mission 8 – 15 Minutes

Running time – 20:46Director – Mike Madigan

Bryce Carter, the youngest human being on the planet, follows Thames around on a delivery forcing him to be part of his reality TV show, "Younger Than You." Pinned down by violent gangs and caught in the middle of turf wars, Bryce gets a rude awakening to the real world of InZer0.

Mission 9 – Anew to Light and Life

Running time – 34:34Director – Mike Zawacki

Maddox entrusts Thames with the world's most sought after package – a little girl. Endangered by the gangs in competition for this package, Thames enlists Marilee's help and the mission brings them closer than they ever thought or hoped possible. The governor's continued absence causes distress in the city as many look for direction in this broken world.

Mission 10 – The Key

Running time – 28:26Director – Keith Jefferies

The couriers are hired by different factions to get the same package – a key. It's a test of friendships and skills to see who will deliver. Thames has an ace in the hole he didn't count on – his brother and former gang – The Wolves.

Mission 11 – Dealbreakers

Running time – 33:56Director – Rob Gulley

True colors are revealed in the quest to find an innocent and the brother who would betray. The couriers find themselves on the same side as The Wolves as they fight to save Thames and ultimately themselves.

Mission 12 – Destiny

Running time – 54:10Director – Jamie Sonderman

What's in the pod? Season 1 comes full circle as the different factions vying for power in the city converge to discover the answer to this burning question.

Thames finds himself in the middle of the struggle for this broken world.
