Snö Mountain (sometimes rendered Sno Mountain. Snö also means snow in Swedish), is a ski resort in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Among the largest ski areas in the state's Pocono region, it has 26 ski trails that include beginner slopes as well as some of the region's steepest skiing, and 26 trails for skiing. Snö Mountain also has two terrain parks and two half-pipes, including a 22-footer. It has a lodge with a patio and grill.

Originally called Montage Mountain Ski Area, the resort was developed by Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, using federal economic development funds. In 1979, the county bought the land from Pennsylvania Gas & Water Co. for $14 million. Construction began in January 1984 and was completed in time for the grand opening in December.[1] It was renamed in 2006.

There are 5 fixed-grip chairlifts:

  • Shuttle (triple)
  • Short Haul (double)
  • Iron Horse (triple)
  • Long Haul (triple)
  • Phoebe Snow (quad)

There are also two magic carpet lifts, one along the snow tubing tracks; the other for beginning skiers.

The trail difficulty breakdown is:

  • 35% beginner
  • 30% intermediate
  • 20% advanced
  • 15% expert

An amphitheater, the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain, is next to the ski resort.
