On
February 9 ,2008 , Jenny Pat fell from her apartment building onto the courtyard of the second floor suffering moderate injuries. Jenny climbed out the window of her 11th floor apartment. She attempted to scale down the side of the building. She lost footing and fell onto the second floor courtyard. She was rushed to the hospital in stable condition. Her mother, Fu, told Hong Kong press that this was not a suicide attempt, and that the allegations of Jenny suffering fromclinical depression for almost a decade is false. "She is the happiest and most carefree person ever since childhood. She is not a depressed person, but she does have panic attacks at times of extreme stress," said Fu to the reporters. Although there are other sources that collaborates with Jenny Pat's history of depression, her family firmly denies such allegations. Perhaps it is due to the current stigma in Chinese culture that is still attatched to this medical condition.
