Jenny Pat (Traditional Chinese: 畢蕾蕾), born 1981 in Hong Kong, is a past television presenter for Fairchild TV. She is one of the two only grandchildren of the world renown Modern painter Fu Baoshi. She is of mixed heritage. Her mother, Fu Yick Suen, was born in Chongqing, of Sichuan Province. Her father, William Murata Pat, is half Japanese: born during the WWII, he raised by his Chinese maternal grandfather. William's mother, a minor film actress of Manchurian descent, eloped with Satoshi Murata to Japan, leaving William (Pat Tai Lui) in Beijing. William later became a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Northwestern Polytechnical University in China. He later moved to Hong Kong and became a merchant.

Pat studied at Maryknoll Convent School, she graduated from the University of British Columbia, specialised in History of Asian Art. While in Vancouver, she auditioned to become a television presenter for Fairchild TV in 1998 and became an on-air weather reporter. After her stint in the News Department, she assumed hosting duties on "What's On" from 2001 to 2002. Upon graduation from UBC, Pat moved to Beijing to work for China Guardian Auctions as a Chinese Paintings Specialist from January 2004 to August 2006. During which she studied the art of appraisal of Chinese modern brush paintings. Pat is now recruited by Christie's and is currently working and residing in Hong Kong.

Accident in 2008

On February 9, 2008, Jenny Pat fell from her apartment building onto the courtyard of the second floor suffering moderate injuries. Jenny climbed out the window of her 11th floor apartment. She attempted to scale down the side of the building. She lost footing and fell onto the second floor courtyard. She was rushed to the hospital in stable condition. Her mother, Fu, told Hong Kong press that this was not a suicide attempt, and that the allegations of Jenny suffering from clinical depression for almost a decade is false. "She is the happiest and most carefree person ever since childhood. She is not a depressed person, but she does have panic attacks at times of extreme stress," said Fu to the reporters. Although there are other sources that collaborates with Jenny Pat's history of depression, her family firmly denies such allegations. Perhaps it is due to the current stigma in Chinese culture that is still attatched to this medical condition.
