Sharps Brewery is located in Rock, in north
Cornwall . It was founded in 1994, and has become oneof the fastest growing breweries in the UK. Its Doom Bar bitter has become particularly widespreadthroughout the southwest of the UKBeers
Sharps brew three main beers plus three others, which are less commonly found.
Doom Bar (4% abv)
A medium bitter. Named after an offshore sandbank in the Camel Estuary, Doom Bar has been aCAMRA Beer of the year (2004) and has been finalist in theGreat British Beer Festival for the last three years. Bottled Doom Bar was also recognised at the International Beer Awards 2006, winning a place in the Worlds Top 50 Bottled Beers.Atlantic IPA (4.9% abv)
A dry beer, higher in alcohol as is typical of IPAs. The labelling bears the logo of theRNLI , and some proportion of sales is donated to them.Eden Pure Ale (4.4% abv)
A lighter ale with more hop flavour. The website states it is made with least environmental impact, in conjunction with theEden Project . It is generally more widely available bottled, rather than in cask format. Eden was named Supreme Champion Ale in the CAMRA Cornish beer festival 2000, and awarded a Silver award in the 2005 Taste of the West Awards.The above ales are all available bottled. Sharps also produce the following ales in cask only.

Sharps make an effort to minimise environmental inpact in terms of waste, CO2 emissions and water use.They won Low Carbon business of the year at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards, and according to the website are the first UK brewer to issue an enforceable responsible drinking policy. They have a joint venture with the Eden Project, and support the RNLI as well as several sports teams.
