Akhtar Sheerani

Akhtar Sheerani

Mohammad Akhtar Khan "Akhtar" Sheerani (May 4, 1905 in Tonk-Rajasthan, India - September 9, 1948 in Lahore, Pakistan) is considered one of the most romantic Urdu poets. He was the son of a legendary Urdu writer Mahmood Sheerani.

His famous poems include

# "Ai ishq kahiN le chal"
# "O desh se aane waale bataa. Kis haal meN haiN yaaraan e watan."
