Adare Manor is a 19th century
manor house located on the banks of theRiver Maigue in the village ofAdare , County Limerick, Ireland, the former seat of theEarl of Dunraven and Mount-Earl , now a luxury resort hotel, theAdare Manor Hotel .The first rebuilding on the ancient site was designed by architect
James Paine and carries the inscription across the front roofline, "Except the Lord build the house: their labour is but lost that build it". The house was vastly enlarged in 1832. Adare remained the home of the Earl of Dunraven until it was sold in 1987. The Dunraven family now reside inKilgobbin House , Adare. The house was purchased by Irish-American businessman Tom Kane and converted into theAdare Manor Hotel . A golf course, theAdare Golf Club was added alongside theAdare Manor Golf Club in 1995.The house is set on a magnificent 840 acre estate and now operates as a five star hotel, featuring the [Adare Golf Club] , Elemis Treatment Roooms, Townhouses and Villas on the rest of the resort. Bill Clinton stayed in Adare Manor in September 1998. The Manor was voted Ireland's Leading Hotel in the [http://www.worldtravelawards.com/winners2006-8 2006 World Travel Awards]It hosted the Irish Open in 2007 and it is hosting it again in 2008 and 2009
