Sporting de Gijón 's famed youth system, "Mareo", Miñambres debuted with the first team during 1987-88, being an undisputed starter in the following season.In 1989-1990, he switched to
CD Tenerife , where he went on to be active part of the side's "La Liga " consolidation and consequentUEFA Cup participations. Relegated in 1998-99, Miñambres retired from football and went into management.He started coaching former side Tenerife, then continued with
Hércules CF ,UD Salamanca ,Alicante CF andUE Lleida . In 2007-08, he becameRayo Vallecano 's director of football.International career
Between 1989 and 1994, Miñambres won 6 caps for Spain and scored 2 goals.
His debut came on
