Confederation of Human Rights Organizations (CHRO) is a human rights organisation based in Kerala, India which watches human rights and human rights violations in Kerala and also all over India.

It has brought many research reports and papers with the help of other international human rights organisations like Human Rights Watch International [1]

Main activities

Confederation of Human Rights Organizations (CHRO) stands to protect, uphold and strengthen the rights of traditionally exploited and oppressed marginalized social segments of Tribals, Dalits, Minorities, Backward Castes, Women, Children and victims of State Violations.

CHRO has conducted public trials and fact finding session at different places of Kerala where judiciary and Police has failed to bring the human rights violators.[2]

History

CHRO was formed in 1997. Mukundan C. Menon was its founder and secretary general [3]

It then started coordinating individuals and groups all over Kerala who were working for human rights.

CHRO has been working for the past few years independently without receiving any funding from any governmental and foreign organisations and individuals.

It works with international human rights organisations like Human Rights Watch to help international society on international human rights issues.
