Jonny Restrick

Jonny Restrick (born 2 Feb 1979 in Northern Ireland) is a British a racing driver manager and a former Northern Irish karting champion. His management company is Jonny Restrick Motorsport Ltd, with the mission to manage the career of up and coming drivers with the ultimate goal being to manage a driver from karting to F1

Career

Restrick moved to London for University in 1997 once he retired from his 6-year kart-racing career as 1996 Northern Ireland Champion, Ulster Champion and Ulster Cup Champion.

While studying for his degree in Manufacturing Engineering with Management and Business at Brunel University, West London, Restrick worked as a mechanic, race engineer then team manager for various karting teams at British Championship level. 1998 was his first year running a driver in the British Championship and McLaren Mercedes Champions of the Future series – running the McLaren Mercedes supported driver, Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton is currently an F1 race driver of McLaren Mercedes.

With Hamilton moving to race on the continent for 1999, Restrick worked with drivers such as Paul Di Resta, Tom Ferrier, Craig Davis and Ed Hoy amongst others over the following years. Four British Championship titles later, Restrick found myself spending all his spare time trying to help his drivers' progress to single-seater formula motor racing.

Managed Drivers

For the 2007 season, Restrick is working with or representing the following clients:

Tim Mullen (GBR) - 2006 British GT Champion, 2007 will see Tim remain with the Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari team in the FIA GT Championship. Tim will also compete in the Le Mans 24 Hr race in 2007 for the fourth time.
Markus Niemelä (FIN) - Formula Renault UK Race Winner 2006.
Richard Keen (GBR) - World Series by Renault competitor 2006.
Rodolfo Gonzalez (VEN) - British F3 Scholarship Champion 2006. British F3 International Championship competitor 2007
