"Sleeping Dogs" is a pop rock song written by Merril Bainbridge and samples the chorus of the Bee Gees song "I Started a Joke" which is used for the bridge of the song. It was produced by Siew for Bainbridge's first album "The Garden" and was released as a CD single in Australia on February 19, 1996, being the last song released from the album. It did not chart very well peaking at number fifty-five on the Australian ARIA Singles Charts and spent eight weeks in the top one hundred. The song tells a story of a couple that torment and insult each other then make up for it all in one day, then they start to get sick of living that way in a love/hate relationship.
