Sideslip angle

Sideslip angle

Sideslip angle relates to the displacement of the aircraft centerline from the relative wind. In flight dynamics it is given the shorthand notation eta (beta) and is positive when the relative wind is displaced to the right of the airplane centerline. The sideslip angle eta is essentially the directional angle of attack of the airplane and is the primary reference in lateral stability as well as directional stability considerations. [cite book
