Trehafod ,Rhondda , southWales is a tourist attraction which offers an insight into the life of thecoal mining community that existed in the area until the 1980s.Visitors can experience the life of the coal miners on a guided tour through one of the mine shafts of the

In May 2000, a 6 foot replica Miner's Lamp monument - see photo - was unveiled at the entrance of Rhondda Heritage Park. According to the plaque on the monument it was erected "as a memorial to all those who through accident, disaster or disease, lost their lives or otherwise suffered as a result of the mining industry of the
