This snail lives in mixed forest.
hell description
The shell is large and heavy, with all apertural processes, except the parietal
tubercle , well developed. The coloration is as in "Placostylus ambagiosus annectens ".This species is evidently the descendant of the subfossil "
Placostylus ambagiosus gardneri ". The shell height is up to 83 mm, and the width is up to 35 mm."Placostylus ambagiosus whareana" is classified by the
New Zealand Department of Conservation as being "Nationally Critical".References
