Distribution
This subspecies is endemic to
Cape Maria van Diemen inNorthland in theNorth Island ofNew Zealand . It is found in a similar area to "Placostylus ambagiosus worthyi ", but is of more recent occurrence.Habitat
This subspecies survives in a few places in flax clumps.
hell description
The shell is of distinctive shape, the spire being twice the height of the aperture, which is short and D-shaped. The basal lip, columellar and parietal processes are the best developed. The shell height is up to 86 mm, and the width up to 37 mm.
