Doni Kochev

Doni Kochev (1874–1899), was a famous Bulgarian revolutionary and agitator against the Ottoman Empire in the end of the 19th century. He was born to poor family from Karlovo(Bulgaria). His mother was a teacher( Sardina Kocheva), the father was executed by the Ottoman police.

Little is known about the childhood of Doni. The only facts are since his 17th birthday when he actually joined the revolutionary newspaper, called "Denis and Stancho ideas for freedom" (1889–1894). After Kochev wrote several articles for the newspaper he was sentenced for propaganda by the government to 3 years in jail. The next two years he joined the revolutionary group of Bobi Georgiev — "The Fire".

When the government captured him again, a death sentence was given. He was executed on 8 February 1899 in Chervilo town.
