Kolačarić (Serbian Cyrillic: "Колачapић", IPA2|'kɔlatʃariʨ) (English translation: "The Pastry Chef's son") is a rare Serbian surname with origins in the Šumadija region, Serbia. The family is Serbian Orthodox Christian and the slava (patron saint) of the family is Saint Nicholas.

Origin

The surname Kolačarić derived from the word and occupation "Kolačar" (Kolač: Pastry, Kolačar: Pastry Chef). The first Kolacaric's migrated from Montenegro in the 17th- and 18th century. The family is ethnic Serbian Orthodox Christian.

Descendants

The descendants can be found in Serbia (concentrated in Lazarevac and Belgrade), Sweden (Stockholm) and the United States.In the 1960's two brothers from the Kolacaric family moved from Belgrade to Stockholm, Sweden.The most famous Kolacaric is the Serbian actress Sonja Kolačarić.
