DeVern Fromke

DeVern Fromke, President of Sure Foundation Publishers, [http://www.fromkebooks.com] and Ministry of Life literature outreach, is an evangelical writer and teacher. He has had a significant influence on the thought and spirituality of many Christians, particularly within the Higher Life and Charismatic movements.

Biography

DeVern Fromke studied at Seattle Pacific University. After graduating he worked with Youth for Christ before teaching in several high schools and serving as headmaster of Heritage Christian School. For a period of more than 50 years he and his wife Juanita ministered in Brazil, New Zealand, Europe and Japan. Juanita has since died, and he is now married to his second wife, Ruth, with whom he resides in Carmel, Indiana near Indianapolis where he continues to write and speak in the field of Christian spirituality.

Fromke writes in the "higher life" tradition of Theodore Austin-Sparks, his spiritual mentor [http://www.saltlight.org/barney/recommended] , but his work also served as a springboard for many within the charismatic movement, particularly among British Restorationists such as David Lillie and Barney Coombs.
