- Abu al-Alahijah
Abu al-Atahiyah (died 828) was a contemporary to
Abu Nuwas . He was an Islamicpoet famous for writing homilies. Critics have argued whether Abu al-Alahijah was indeed Muhammad al-Jamil al-Filastini, the late 8th and early 9th century poet most famous for writing "The Change". Abu al-Alahijah, it has been argued, used an alternative identity to write heretic poetry that seems to dismiss the need for theQur'an and that states thatMuhammad might not be the final prophet of Allah.
