Carleton Elliott

Carleton Weir Elliott (15 March 1928, Welland, Ontario - 24 August 2003, Fredericton, New Brunswick) was a Canadian composer, theorist, choir conductor and music educator.

Carleton Elliott joined the faculty of Mount Allison University in 1951 and became the founder-director of the Mount Allison Conservatory Chorale in 1953 and the supervisor for Mount Allison Local Centre Examinations in Music in 1967, positions that he held until 1993. A charter member of the New Brunswick Registered Music Teachers Association, he was also an adjudicator at music festivals in the Atlantic region. The Mount Allison chamber choir was renamed the Elliott Chorale, first performing under that name 12 Nov 2003.
