The first pupils were brought to the house by The Reverend Walter Earle in 1887. An existing room was converted into the schoolchapel in 1889. The Junior House was built in 1902 and electricity was brought to the school in 1920. More recent developments include the arrival of girls at the school in 1992 and a 9 holegolf course laid out in 1998. The famous architectPugin , designed the library and a staircase leading to the boarding house.The houses are :
