Nasser Irani, born in 1937 in Tehran, is an Iranian writer best known for a serialized novel called "Fire and smoke" published in a newspaper and also for his articles there. His first stories were published during the reign of the Shah of Iran, and he was soon forbidden to write.

After the 1979 Iranian Revolution he continued his work as a writer. His later works, a trilogy, wasn't published because of government censorship, so he hasn't published anything for a while.
