Hongjie Dai

Hongjie Dai is the J.G. Jackson & C.J. Wood Professor of Chemistry of the Department of Chemistry at Stanford University and is a leading figure in the study of carbon nanotubes. Born in China in 1966, he received a B.S. in Physics from TsingHua University, Beijing, in Physics in 1989 and a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1994 under the direction of Prof. Charles Lieber. Among his awards are the American Chemical Society Pure Chemistry Award, 2002, Julius Springer Prize for Applied Physics, 2004 and the American Physical Society James McGroddy Prize for New Materials, 2006.
