Seanad Éireann , and an opinion columnist with the "Irish Daily Mail ". He is a native ofAhascragh ,County Galway . He won a seat on the National University of Ireland Seanad constituency in July, 2007. From October 2001 to May 2006 he was a columnist for "The Irish Examiner " newspaper. He also lectures inLaw , Personal Development andCommunication s in theInstitute of Technology, Blanchardstown ,Dublin . Rónán Mullen was called to theIrish Bar in 2003, and is currently practising as a barrister. He lives inGlasnevin , Dublin. While not a member, he is familiar with others who are members of the Roman Catholic organisation,Opus Dei . Arts (English and French) fromNational University of Ireland, Galway and a Masters Degree in Journalism fromDublin City University . He was elected president of UCG Students' Union (nowNUI,Galway Students' Union ) in 1991. Mullen also holds a Diploma in Legal Studies and a Barrister-at-Law degree fromKing's Inns .He is a regular contributor to Irish radio and TV programmes, frequently reviewing newspapers on the independent radio channel
