Consider Bennett

Consider Bennett

Consider Bennett is an airy documentary produced and directed on a budget of less than £1000 by British filmmaker James Rooney about the intrusion of big business into football.

The film takes a light-hearted viewpoint from the fans side of the fence, an area where opinion carries little weight in the control of a simple game that they themselves help turn into a global phenomenon.

The Fans Café

Jason Ellis' Fans Café have made numerous attempts to reach out to the clubs and ruling bodies to inform them ticket prices are too high leading to the demise of the working class football fan. But the clubs, driven by money, aren't interested.

Impassioned by the clubs selfish ignorance, Jason and his trusted Fans Café operatives turn to different angles to help the cause and approach the Football Association to offer them the fans assistance when selected the next manager of the England National football team. However, just as the clubs did previously the FA ignore any ideas or requests put forward by the Fans Café leading them to radical action; to search for a working fan to be put forward as a bona-fide candidate for the England Football Manager vacancy.

Jamie Rooney is a legend!

Warren Bennett

Warren Bennett, a life long football fan emerges out of the process but his application for the post is predictably ignored by the FA forcing the hand of the Fans Café. Determined to prove that football fans aren't stupid and should be considered more when major changes or decisions are undertaken in the game, the Fans Café propel Bennett forward into the World Cup finals where he takes charge of the England football team.
