Katherine Lapp

Katherine Lapp is the former Executive Director of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority. She served under former Gov. George Pataki. She previously spent four years in the administration of New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as the city's criminal justice coordinator. She then joined Pataki's Cabinet as Director of Criminal Justice Services. In 2002, she was appointed to the MTA post. Lapp stepped down from the MTA at the end of the Pataki Administration. As head of the MTA, she oversaw the New York City mass transit system, Metro North, the Long Island Railroad, and several bridges and tunnels. She was MTA Executive Director during the 2005 New York City Transit Strike.
